The Muskoka Boat & Heritage Centre wants to help you plan a day to remember your loved one, and reminisce about their accomplishments, achievements and entire life. Whether you wish to have an open house to visit with family and friends, or conduct a tribute in memoriam, we can help to celebrate a life lived.

 

Team Building

            Whether you’re a small team or a large company, we want to provide you the best place to conduct your meeting, training session or annual work gathering. We have several options for rooms, or you can rent the whole facility in order to accommodate your company employees. Rooms can be set up for lectures, boardroom meetings or even live demonstrations. Wireless Internet, and large screens are available for PowerPoint presentations or slideshows.

 

Gala Fundraisers

            If you’re looking to host a grand event, where better than amongst years of history of the Muskoka region? Guests can peruse exhibits and artifacts while enjoying live entertainment and even a catered dinner.

The Muskoka Boat & Heritage Centre requires little decoration as it showcases amazing artifacts and history. A multitude of options for cocktail area setups, as well as bar, and table placement means every event is unique.

Trade Shows

            There is nowhere better to showcase your products and ideas than an exhibit hall. You can plan and prepare for a dynamic, successful show. Space is available for exhibits, demonstrations, and even auctions. Microphones are available, as well as wireless Internet, and projector screens for presentations.

 

Rooms
Rendezvous Room – 16 people seated

The Rendezvous Room offers our clients a very warm comfortable meeting room that can accommodate a variety of setups – lecture, board meeting, and classroom. It comes equipped with comfortable chairs, a white board, easels, tv/vcr/dvd and lectern.

Classroom – 30 people seatedClassroom

Our Classroom provides clients with meeting space at tables and comfortable chairs in a learning environment. This venue can also be used for meetings and lectures, as well as presentations and is outfitted with screens, easels, tv/vcr/dvd and lectern.

Greavette Room – 100 people seated

Our largest room, the Greavette Room can accommodate up to 100 persons at round tables with chairs. This room offers clients state of the art audiovisual equipment, power point presentation availability, a microphone system, large projection screen, tv/vcr/dvd and a lectern.

Exhibit Hall – 150 people seated

The entire facility can be rented for large groups and is ideal for those who want to experience a unique and comfortable setting for a wedding, trade show or fundraising event. This includes audiovisual equipment, as well as microphone system, tv/vcr/dvd, lectern, round tables and comfortable chairs. The exhibit hall is equipped to accommodate 150 people for a seated event, or up to 300 people standing.

            The Muskoka Boat & Heritage Centre is the perfect backdrop for your next special event. The Muskoka Boat & Heritage Centre is a public museum, and contains many irreplaceable artifacts and one-of-a-kind exhibits. As such, there are several practical regulations and conditions applicable when the space is privately rented to ensure our standards are maintained. Temperature is set to Museum Standards to preserve our artifacts. Lighting can only be manipulated slightly.

 

 



Did you know?

  • The R.M.S. Segwun continues to be recognized by Canada Post as a "Royal Mail Ship" and that mail can be hand-franked or cancelled from the ship as they did more than 100 years ago.
  • In 1974, the Segwun was recommissioned by Prime Minister Pierre Elliott Trudeau.
  • In 1996, the Wanda III Steam Yacht was recommissioned by Prime Minister Jean Chretien.
  • The Segwun's coal comes all the way from Kentucky.

  • In years past, a steamship purser used to take tickets as passengers boarded.  Today, our Purser is responsible for all guest services on board including your dining experience.
  • The Segwun used to carry passengers, freight and mail to a variety of ports on the Muskoka lakes before the days of the automobile.
  • Each year, the Segwun and Wenonah II host upwards of 30 memorable wedding ceremonies and receptions.
  • In recent years the shift to air transport for mail has left only three ships with the right to the prefix; RMS Segwun, which serves as a passenger vessel in Gravenhurst, Ontario, Canada, RMS St Helena, which serves the island of Saint Helena in the South Atlantic,[9] and RMS Queen Mary 2. QM2 was conferred "RMS" by Royal Mail when she entered service in 2004 on the Southampton to New York route as a gesture to Cunard's history – The RMS Segwun is the oldest Royal Mail Ship in the world.
