Your Wedding at Muskoka Boat & Heritage Centre
For a truly intimate experience, Muskoka Boat & Heritage Centre can be booked for your exclusive use. Officiants must be booked by the bride and groom. There are many options for your ceremony and reception, and we want to make your day truly unforgettable.
Ceremonies
The Muskoka Boat & Heritage Centre offers a truly unique setting for a ceremony, any time of year. Weddings are closed to the public, and the entire facility is available for your guests to peruse. Ceremonies can be held on a replica of the R.M.S. Segwun or on a beautiful white porch from the Grand Hotel and Resort Era.
The Heritage Centre can comfortably accommodate up to 150 guests amongst our exhibits and artifacts, while the bridal party prepares in a private room.
Receptions
This venue is perfectly outfitted for a wedding reception, for intimate gatherings or larger groups. Exhibit hall space can be setup with buffet tables, coffee and tea stations, a dance floor, head table, round tables, comfortable chairs, and fine white English china. This establishment is fully licensed and several bar options are available. Linen is not included with facility rental, but we are happy to arrange to rent on your behalf!
Rehearsal Dinners
Whether your ceremony is at the Wharf, on the steamships or at the Muskoka Boat & Heritage Centre, the Centre is the perfect venue for a rehearsal dinner. Round tables and comfortable chairs lend an upscale atmosphere to get prepared for your special day. Many options are available, so book an appointment to discuss what is best for your needs. When it comes to extraordinary service, this is the real deal.

Catering Services
North Restaurant and Lounge is the caterer for the Muskoka Boat & Heritage Centre. However, if you have another caterer you would like to work with, or prefer to cater your own event, the Muskoka Boat & Heritage Centre will discuss these options with you.

Wedding Photos at the Heritage Centre
Picturesque Muskoka Wharf is a beautiful backdrop for any event, and provides ample opportunity for wedding photos. Whether you wish to walk the boardwalk or stay inside, amongst the exhibits and artifacts, the Muskoka Boat & Heritage Centre provides a dynamic scene for your special day.
Did you know?
- The R.M.S. Segwun continues to be recognized by Canada Post as a "Royal Mail Ship" and that mail can be hand-franked or cancelled from the ship as they did more than 100 years ago.
- In 1974, the Segwun was recommissioned by Prime Minister Pierre Elliott Trudeau.
- In 1996, the Wanda III Steam Yacht was recommissioned by Prime Minister Jean Chretien.
- The Segwun's coal comes all the way from Kentucky.
- Muskoka Boat & Heritage Centre opened in 2006 and celebrates Muskoka's steamship era, grand resorts and hotels and the region's rich boat-building history.
- Wenonah II is Canada's newest passenger vessel combining turn-of-the-century charm with modern conveniences such as air-conditioning and an on board elevator.
- The Muskoka Boat & Heritage Centre is home to North America's largest in-water display of antique and classic boats.
- The ship's private label wine is one of the few given permission by the LCBO to be sold in stores throughout Ontario.

- In years past, a steamship purser used to take tickets as passengers boarded. Today, our Purser is responsible for all guest services on board including your dining experience.
- The Segwun used to carry passengers, freight and mail to a variety of ports on the Muskoka lakes before the days of the automobile.
- Each year, the Segwun and Wenonah II host upwards of 30 memorable wedding ceremonies and receptions.
- In recent years the shift to air transport for mail has left only three ships with the right to the prefix; RMS Segwun, which serves as a passenger vessel in Gravenhurst, Ontario, Canada, RMS St Helena, which serves the island of Saint Helena in the South Atlantic,[9] and RMS Queen Mary 2. QM2 was conferred "RMS" by Royal Mail when she entered service in 2004 on the Southampton to New York route as a gesture to Cunard's history – The RMS Segwun is the oldest Royal Mail Ship in the world.
